![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Folks can learn to evade, block, intercept or clinch instead of taking it on the chin. ![]() Ever seen X-rays of SHATTERED mandible? It's a fricking wire mess. Not to mention the dental work...

| Resident Groaner | lol but youll never be a great fighter if you cant take a hit. The point being that unless you are miles better than your opponent you are going to get hit. So assuming the other guy has a clue what he is doing then you can never be a great fighter without a good chin. This is one of my main gripes in the bruce lee argument, his untested chin. Of course you can still do a lot but a weak chin is a disaster.

![]() | I was talking to one of my uncles who was a boxer. (We were watching the latest Rambo, which led to a discussion of Rocky, which led to a discussion on boxing) and he mentioned "glass chin". I said what was that? So, curious, I had wondered if anyone else "heard" of it; Scant Internet reference; Glass chin - Boxrec Boxing Encyclopaedia |

Generally people say Glass Jaw, but someone could say glass chin and people would still know what was being stated. But most people would still think the term was a bit odd. Just like some of the other terms listed as synonyms on the page you linked too.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well, I used to read a lot of cowboy books and they often talked about the man with the "Iron Jaw". Kinda the opposite of a glass jaw. This thread reminded me of those old Iron Jaw cowboys.
