| Resident Groaner | ok, ill assume you havent come across this before. Glass chin, or Glass jaw refers to a boxers susceptibility to being knocked out easily. How easily someone is knocked out is due to a few things but there is little that anyone can do about it. Different people get knocked out more easily than others, some can be knocked out simply with a jab. You can have a great looking fighter that is really fast and skillful but with a glass chin, they will go nowhere. Amir Khan is one such fighter, its unlikely he can have a career now. There is nothing that can be done to change this, its genetic and just how you are built. Neck strengthening will help a tiny bit but its to do with brain function and how quickly and willingly your brain will shut itself down. hope that helps.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Don't bother 'helping' Ghost. This guy is 47MM from, well every other forum there is, and he didn't really have a question. He just thinks he's being 'deep' by dropping questions but never answering a direct one himself. If he sticks around you'll see. Go ahead, ask him specific questions about his training and/or background. He also has a fondness for finding words in the dictionary he doesn't know, then using them incorrectly in sentences.

Give it up. It's obvious who you are. But hey, by all means, post away. However, if you are just the same old pain in the ass I reckon I'll make a comment or two of my own. Here's hoping for the best!

![]() | If your post is directed to me, your previous seemed to sum it up. I was just asking if anyone heard of the term and to start a friendly conversation on it. I didnt need the "peanut gallery". |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Glass jaw: A jaw vulnerable to a blow, such as an uppercut from a boxer. Glass jaw is a phenomenon recognized not only by screen-writers of films such as ‘Rocky’, but also by boxing trainers and other sports coaches. A person with a glass jaw is relatively easy to knock out and is more likely to sustain a fracture from a blow to the jaw. A colloquial term used to describe the susceptibility of an athlete, especially a boxer, to be knocked out or sustain a fracture of the mandible from a blow to the jaw. In my experience it applies to guys with a slack jaw, loose mouthguards, low, or "open" guard (hand position) as well as a tendency to fracture, crack, chip or dislocate the actual bone or connective tissues.

| Resident Groaner | its more than that Tant, some people are just easier to knock out than others. weve had guys in the gym that can be knocked out from a jab and cannot even spar cos of it. Its genetic, nothing much can be done about it. Everyone has a different level of susceptibility to being knocked out.
