Are they any good? One specific question I have about them is this..
How well do they work for working close(inside) the bag? The way I was trained an hanging bags was to have your lead foot under the bag to simulate having your foot up in between your opponents. Any comments? |

I've got one and its O.K. The only reason I got one is because I live in an apartment. But for something to have rather than nothing I wouldn't get rid of it. It walks alot though. I got mine at a pawn shop!

I don't have a wavemaster but I do have a B.O.B. and it has the same base as a wavemaster. Because of the base, you won't be able to put your lead foot under it. It also moves a little when you hit it, but it's not a problem. I have mine filled with sand and the only way to knock it over is to skip into it with a side kick.

I own a wave master xxl filled with sand(moves a little too much when kicking)
I own a B.O.B. as well ,and he moves as well the thing people are missing is when doing inside work against a real opponent the chances are he will move as well,(every one I 've fought has moved a lot and if not for movement(head and feet) I'd have been ko'ed on a number of occasions) think about it you're in close punching some one wouldn't you like to keep forward pressure on your opponent as he backs up, same principle as with the bag, the bag is retreating some keep the forward pressure on your opponent (the bag) don't worry about it moving, just keep on the pressure and the punches. |

Traditional heavy bags are the best, but If you can't hang a bag from the ceiling then it's either a freestanding bag or a traditional bag hung on a metal heavy bag stand( most heavy bag stands are pieces of crap and can't take a beating) ( mine can't when I mount a 70# heavy bag) so a free standing bag is the only option. Warning: never fill the regular wave master with sand only use water otherwise it'll break in about 2 mounths (mine did) the wave master xxl is ok to fill with sand, as for B.O.B I'd only fill him with water but it's best to ask century what they say.
