![]() | It was said that B Lee could punch and retract in 3 frames of a movie . I think there are 24 frames in a second . So his speed would be 0.125 sec . Maybe can can do the same . Nowadays you have some (not too expensive)video editing software that lets you cut your homemovie on a level of 1/10th of a second . So if you record yourself and than edit it , you can approx calculate the speed of your punch . Does someone has already a standardized method for measuring this ? |

![]() | James DeMile sells some excellent timers from his website. He learned Wing Chun from Bruce Lee during Lee's Seattle years. http://www.wingchundo.com |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't get this thread. If you have cumbersome but powerful punches and superb timing does that make your punches any less effective than someone who may hit faster than you?? This is all relative, subjective bollocks really.

![]() | There was this one Wing Chun guy in Australia or somewhere that broke the world record in punching the most in a minute. Here it is: In August, 2005, one of Grandmaster Fung's students, Robert Ardito, received world acclaim when he broke the Guinness Book of Records speed punching record. His record was 428 punches per minute, breaking the previous record of 347 punches per minute. |
