Rocky Marciano. He wasn't blessed with the great movement but he was one tough fighter.

Ali fought a wrestler (I forget his name, was it something like Inoki?) who was Japanese. The guy was as hard as nails, even though he was also into the fixed game of pro wrestling.

But the whole thing was a bit of a farce. Ali wore his gloves, and Inoki spent almost the entire time lying on his back with his legs facing Ali.

A waste of time that did neither of them any good, except maybe in the bank balance.

I read somewhere that the Ali v. Inoki fight ended up with Inoki repeatedly drop kicking Ali's legs and then retreating. Ali ate alot of leg kicks. When he got Inoki's timing down and tried to get the inside, Inoki just layed on his back and tried to heel stomp Ali's thighs.

As far as boxing is concerned, in my opinion it has to be "Sugar" Ray Leonard. i've alot of time for Hearns and Hagler, and Ali is a personal favourite of mine. But Leonard encompassed everything. Speed, skill, determination, strength, humour, and he could be as cutting and smart as Ali in beating his opponents mentally before they had even stepped in the ring!

Exclamation

I personally think that Roy Jones Jr. is the best Pound For Pound! Not because everyone else is saying it and he's rated that now...I watch a lot of boxing, current and past greats. I have to say that his hand speed, power, ego, chin, footwork and all out God gifted talent make him the best fighter of all time! I love all of the greats, but looking at styles and intensity I don't think anything will work against RJJ!

RJJ is a great fighter and I do believe that he is on the "top 10" list but not best ever #4#. I say this for two reasons... Firstly, his last show as a lightheavyweight was a bit controversial..I called it a draw on my card. Number two, there are a few fights left for RJJ to win, such as a James Toney re-match (maybe at cruiser or heavyweight).

Roy Jones Jr. is the best. I do agree that the last fight was controversial. I did, however have Jones winning by 2 points when all was said and done. This was by far the worste showing of Jones' carrer, but with that said what other fighter could have dropped 20+ lbs of muscle in only a few months and still pulled out the victory against this level of competition? Answer: Nobody.

I had always questioned his heart before this fight, mainly because he made it look like his opponents didn't even belong in the ring with him. While probably unknowingly, he sacrificed his stamina, strength, and even his speed as a result of losing that much weight. With all that said, he still won.

If he were to have fought this guy before moving to heavy weight, I believe the match would have looked more like a clinic than a professional fight.
