Not good.
I trained in china 4 years and know this one. Well, havent been there, but i know, the siping wushu school is not famous at all, bucsue it was also the first school i found in the web.
The whole business is based on foreign dollars

Well... I could give you a couple of other addresses, but all chinese martial arts schools will.... ahhhhm piss u off sooner or later.

What exactly do you wanna learn.
I maen foreign Siping students leave the school and are sutisfied.
They think the kisk ass. But thats only becasue they dont know other schools. Service, rooms, food etc is supposed to be pretty good, but the accademy is overpriced and has too many foreigners.
So the training level is not very high.

Foreigners leave happy, becasue they learn 150 forms, but no basics, no acrobatics, no flexibility. You could learn 150 forms by watching vids.

If you wanne become good at wushu, visit a martial arts school without any ohter foreigners, thousands of chinese students and bad service.
U will be pissed off with the chinese the whole time. but ull learn stuff.

Thats the school i visited. Have a few more links... ust ask me.
http://www.sjws.com
http://www.e-wushu.com/yellowpage/list.asp?iD=91&model=
Here wushu schools in the chinese yellow pages.
They are all better then siping.

if you dont know chinese... and i think u dont
JUST CHANGE THE ID number in the HTML line to see ALL CHINESE WUSHU SCHOOL

Look for "WUSHU XUEXIAO" or "WUXIAO" in google. Then if they only have a chinese site, thats good, becasue they dont have experiance with foreigners and will teach you propely.
LOOK for ther tel.number or the @ in the website.... to find their email.
Then ask for help in a chinese restaurant.

However... How long do you plan to stay in china.
What do you wanna learn. Siping might be ok for traditional.
How Old are u... if u wanna do acrobatics.....

If u have any questions, feel free to ask.

No offense to this MA or its practicioners, but does anyone else think that these monks cant fight or teach you how? I think some MMA practicioners and real self defense guys should go there and see it for themselves.

I couldnt agree more since the monks religion prevents them from entering MMA, I think you should go to China, find a Shaolin monk, and bitch slap his silly ass, then slap a flying armbar on him and make him tap!! show those stupid monks what they are missing in thier training. freakin bald headed idiots.

now go practice hard then go jump a monk!

You wont even find a real monk in china... The last real shaolin monk probably died a 1000 years ago.... lol ... I had a couple of classmates wo were hired by SHAOLIN MONK groups. When we talk about SHAOLIN MONKS.... that is only the name of an artistic wushu show-goup... A manager picks students from any school in china... They have to shave their hads and then they can go to europe or america for a few month.... The best team is the HENAN SHAOLIN MONK TEAM... They are the most professional and have the longest history... The even try to bring back old traditions... but as u said.... Its not the same and will never again be the same. They want to watch dirty stuff in the internet and play tekken.... Uhhhh they love tekken.
Howvever... Very view "shaolin monk" - artists or showmen......can fight.
You can slap them if you want....lol
regards
MAVI

None of the martial art monks are real monks anyway. The communist movement destroyed the Temple basically. Shaolin Monks in ancient times could fight, and they fought well. Emperors would asked for their service against invaders and Japanese pirates, etc.

I dont want to argue on the praticability of traditional chinese wushu. As a foreigner, one cannot learn chinese wushu easily. What he can do is just to know about it, even you studied it for several years.

The majority of Wushu/Shaolin Type arts you will find are SHIT. Sorry but yes, thats the way it is with most schools.
WHY?
Over Emphasis on Forms,
Lack of Contact,
Lack of "LIVE" Training,
Lack of Power behind techniques,
Lack of Conditioning,
Lack of fighting ability.

Hold on just before you flame me. I am going to admit that there are some good schools out there. But the majority of TCMA schools are either misguided or total frauds. Playing overly on mystical things like Chi and Dim Mak. Not that they don't work, but teaching these things as if they will always work is a very bad thing. Boxers all train to knock their opponent out and not to get knocked out. But it doesn't always work, because there are so many variables. Likewise for Chi and all those other things.

The only form of Kung Fu that i will tell anybody to learn(And be able to sleep at night) Is Sanda/San Shou. At least with those schools you know what you are getting, rather than gambling on something that may or may not work.
