I train in Jun Fan Gung Fu/JKD. Boxing and Wing Chun combined really do work. Wing Chun is a system based mostly on trapping. You can always throw cross, hook, cross after a tan sau. There are a lot of drills we do with focus mitts moving from kicking, range, into trapping range, then go into boxing range. But you should never seek to trap, you only trap or use wing chun type skills when there is a barrier in the way. I practice all my trapping tools from a boxing stance i've done chi sao from a boxing stance. It may seem odd but it can be effective after it is harnessed through lots of focus mitt training.

i actually train wing chun under my sifu who has a boxing background and yes mix our punches up we do uppercutts hooks body shots its all there if you are willing to explore.Im not to sure how you would go throwing these punches in a wing tsun or ving tsun stance 60 /40 weight distrubution or however much weight they put on the back leg looks and feels real constricted

ireally dont like this guy thai bri he seems to spend his time hanging round these forums waiting for people to open wing chun disscussion and when they do he has nothing but negative input.Listen man its getting old and if people prefer wing chun to other systems so be it i would consider you went and trained under someone with a half decent attitude towards people and what they prefer because whoever you are under now is not doing you any favors in that department.A good instructor is always reflected in his students take it somewhere else mate
