Horse shit. Most of those people were Cheung's students.
Cheung constantly boasted in the MA press how he was the ONLY guy to be taught "real" Wing Chun, and that he could take 0on anyone, any time, any where. Boztepe approached him at the seminar with a copy of one of these articles. He said words to the effect of "is this true"? When Cheung said yes, they fought, and rolled about like girl guides. For years Cheung only complained that his Kung Fu slippers let him down. But now, of course, we have an array of nonsense, including:- The clip is edited Cheung actually won Cheung was ambushed The crowd would have killed Cheung if he had not let Boztepe win His slippers were, well, slippery It goes on and on. Cheung put himself on a pedestal. Boztepe knocked him off it. It is as simple as that. |

No it aint as simple as that. the crowd was not made up of william cheung's students, and the thing about the magasine article you probably read off of boztep's site. it was an ambush and its a fact that the clip was heavily edited. And some kung fu slipers ARE really damn slipery.

GM Cheung: No, no, he's no match. He can't throw punches (laugh). I mean, I would not have granted him another opportunity to degrade martial arts. The whole episode took over 20 seconds to take place. I have seen both the unedited version of the event on tape, as well as the edited version available to the public (on Dynamic Wing Tsun). When we were on the ground, Boztepe threw seven or so punches and I blocked all of them. This is proven on the videos, because it still showed despite their editing. They cut out my kicking Boztepe when he first jumped in, and also putting him in a head- lock. They still could not make it look like I was hurt. The fact that I resumed teaching the seminar after the fight and had another photo session with the magazine in the break later only confirms that I blocked all of Boztepe's punches. But I still wonder whether Boztepe was hurt from the strikes of my knees.
