![]() | [QUOTE=holyman]I am very much impressed by the skills of martial artists on the forum. I myself have focused on finding a peace in myself through religion and chi kung. I am a practising buddhist and realize more and more that the purpose of the martial artists is to reach a level where we do not need to fight because we know ourselves as 'Gods'. We spend hours upon hours forging our hands into steel and are muscles into mechanical pistons able to develope devastating punches and kicks. But please do not forget how much martial arts embracs religion. What are the views from people on this forum ? Harry[/QUOTE Spiritualism alone is not enough to fight evil, physical strength goes hand in hand in being religious. I read once, don`t know how true this is, that one of the reason why budhist monks train in martial art aside to keep from falling asleep during mediation & to fight bandits it is also to be able to do "exorcist" rites successfully. Becuase most people who are possess by demons tend to have extraordinary human strength & it is only by being physical fit & strong can they successfully drive the demon away combining with their spiritual purity. Most great warriors are known for their religious convictions one such warrior was Gen. Kwan the famouse weilder of " KWAN DAO" the long cutting blade.

![]() | Why do you insist on using unkind words towards fellow kungfu brothers ? I only wish to share and enrich my experiences. I do not wish to fight with you. You are not a true warrior. Quote:

![]() | Holyman: I like your philosophy, and have the greatest respect for Buddhism as giving wonderful tenets to live by. Psalms 82:6 says that we are "gods" but there is only one God. Organized religion can really suck I have a hard time recommending a specific church. I have a friend in Arizona and I recommended he try a certain denomination. They locked the door when he visited because he was five minutes late so he never went back. Please look into forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ, and live the philosophical tenets of Buddhism.
