A martial art is just a training program.
What are your goal? Do you want to learn of to kick a boards ass or a humans. Du you want to learn how to strike, kick, throw or lock? Defend or attack? Do you want to destroy or bulid your body in the process? The best is the one who meets your goal. If it doesn't it's the worst. You might think you or your art are good, but many today just dream. |

I'm sorry but I must refrain from engaging in any type of combat with grandmothers, it is against my code of ethics...besides, M. Bison has mad skills and if she can beat him, then I must bow down to her superiority, for her "Kung-Fu" is much greater than mine!

I first learned the Siu Lim Tao form. That took me 3 weeks because he divided the entire form into 3 parts. I have class once a week. While i learned the form, my sifu taught me the punch on the first day. The second day, i learned to do pak sau against the cycle punch. On the 3rd day, the day i learned the last part of siu lim tao, i started with a routine based single arm chi sau exercise. then came the 4th week. thats when i practiced the 2 single arm routine chi sau excersise. then the 5th week came and i practiced single arm routine chi sau excersise again, and also started to do freestyle single arm chi sau. when the 6th week came, i was taught to turn stance and my sifu had me to do this thing which i later found was rolling hands. he did it slowly with me just to giv me the feeling. on the 7th week, i continued to practice turning, single arm chi sau, and a little bit on rolling hand. then the 8th week.. the last week... i learned 1/6th of the chum kui form and practiced rolling hand the whole period. that was how my 2 months went. When i look back.. it looks as if i didnt spend a great deal of time on each thing... but i feel that its enough. I practice everything other then free style chi sau and rolling hand.. but i try to create an excersise to imitate it.. i look forward to going to the class because after training at home.. i want to see how my training improved. so really.. i think 2 months isnt too short of a period to start on single arm chi sau. Doing my forms at a VERY slow pace.. and my own excersises has made me improve so much. now im a much smarter fighter, and also much more explosive. -JON =D |
