Default Training with Dr. Yang

I have the good fortune (at least I thought) of being able to train at the YMAA center in Boston, Mass. The only problem is, despite the fact that this is the main school, I have (being a new student) relatively little contact with Dr. Yang. I have been practicing martial arts for many years, and jumped at the chance to be taught by such an expert. However, now that I know it will be several years until I actually am able to be taught primarily by Dr. Yang, I am having second thoughts. Is training with him worth sticking around for several years of techniques I already know? Also, of his two hour classes, 1.5 hours is spent on strengthening excercises. While I am the first to say that a strong body is essential, these are excercises that I can do on my own. I signed up to learn technique (particularly chin na, his area of expertise). I don't mind learning the basics again, and I don't mind learning from those with less training than I, as long as I'm learning. But the lack of technique training coupled with the lack of Dr. Yang is frustrating, and his school is not cheap. Any thoughts? Thanks.
