I agree that if you train the principle that Jeet Kun Do portrays then you have a complete system. I dont believe this idea can be said to be one thing or another as it is not an art - but just an idea. (edited - i misread the original post!)
Bruce Lee's philosophy of combat and absorbing what is useful etc etc was found in Taoist thought long before his birth. if you read most of his Philosophy work you will be able to find the same sort of thing in most Taoist teachings. His personal style of fighting was extremely effective form him, but I think there were and are arts with similarly ‘Free’ concepts at their essence. Ba Gua being the main one I have studied. Based on the use of combat principles rather than techniques. Most of the early students absorbed what was useful from a number of systems and then learnt Ba Gua as a sort of ‘masters degree’. Working with concepts rather than techniques is essentially the most advanced form of martial arts proficiency, everything applies to everything else so you are never stuck for a ‘technique’, you just use a certain principle of movement, force or stratergy. This idea is something that ba gua, hsing I and tai chi teach from the outset (in traditional schools). Cheers Chris

'I think rather into Buddhism then Taoism. Trust me'
what do you mean?? you look at Buddhism first then Taoism? you prefer Buddhism to Taoism? you have looked deeply into Buddhism and Taoism? i am guessing english isnt your first language - looking at your location. If it is that last one, then you will see the parallels of Taoist thought and Bruce lees philosophical outlook. Chris
