Hi Polecat,

From what I've read/heard the three internal arts actually compliment each other, I think XingYi is the easiest to learn therefore most people learn it first, Taichi is supposed to take a lifetime to master and Bagua is very difficult to learn and usually limited to experienced martial artists. Bagua is one of the few martial arts specifically designed for multiple opponents. I think the main thing is though that you and I are both enjoying learning an internal art and we are both happy that what we are learning is the real deal. So, enjoy your training - I hope your chi kung (Qigong) is going well - we do a modified version which is called san ti, (basically Qigong in a fighting stance - I'm up to about 15 minutes now)..

cya greg.

You are prolly correct. It's all about the circles I guess. My tai chi definately helped with my Xing Yi, at least on a conceptual level. The power generation is completely different, but some of the same principles apply. San Ti is a atple of most Xing Yi styles, although less so in the style I study.

And thanks, my chi kung is going very well.
Enjoy!!!

Default Krav Maga

npk9.
I, as an israeli can asure you that those guns you mentioned are not by any chance an every other day occurence in israel! Don't belive everything you see or hear on the news!
Mabey Israel is not really in peace with the arabs but nither is the USA.

A little about Krav Maga.
It's not really importent but just so you all know the translasion goes like this:
krav(fight) and maga(touch(not 'to touch' as verb). goes something like touch fight but don't take it literaly.

In israel when you learn it as a normal citision you learn how to handle with a knife and a simple little gun. that's it! lol(I can asure you that no one in the street will suddenly pool a machine gun out of his pocket). all the other stuff are only taught when you join the army and even than only if you choose to be a combat soldier.

It can be very handy in the street and only in the street! there are no competitions or tournoments for krav maga.
You learn how to defeand yourself in realistic situations and from a normal standing point. no katas or shit like that.

well. I hope I cleared a few things and helped a little.
good luck!
