Default wisdom should be shared out.

this is a thread to share techniques, training methods, fighting philosophies, tips, teachings, and general wisdom among martial artists,

does anyone have any questions about certain styles or ways to do things within martial arts?, or wise tips they would like to bring forth and share. everyone try to help each other and basicaly improve peoples understanding of each style they practise, to give a foundation of knowledge to everyone who dosent know certain basics or advanced teachings of each culture,

personally i would like to learn more about conditioning, and ways to max out your training to achieve new levels if anyone has any information about extream training methods, basic or advanced,

"many people do not continue practising the basic training methods, once they think they have suppassed them, they think they can move on and get to the good stuff, but the basics that is the good stuff"

"apprentis you see this tree, it has branched out high aloft in many directions, and has achieved great heights, but the hidden real strenth comes from its roots, the foundation has built up over time to support a mighty trunk, it is like when you are training young apprentis, you grow with strenth gradually the first things you learn are the roots, the basic training will form a great pathway for your trunk to form, then branches of your knowledge to spread out, always feed the roots, this means never forget the basic training methods apprentis, because they are the roots wich will make you mighty."

yeah but people are stupid on here, just like what you just did there, instead of saying something worthwhile with wisedom, you say a smart ass sarcastic comment, just critisize instead of helping people. look at 90% of the posts they teach nothing, there are only a select few people on here who actually know what there talking about and try to genuinly help other martial artists, others think they know it all and just talk smack wich isnt usefull for nothing.

Speak for yourself! How old are you anyway? Why did you choose shaolin over the other arts anyway?

i didnt choose shaolin "over" the other arts, i practise many other styles, taiji, many forms of gung fu, systema, boxing, animal forms of shaolin, qi gong, freestyle fighting, im 21 years old i have studied martial arts since i was 3 to 4 years old, my uncle trained me when i was young he does judo systema and other military styles, then i started doing other styles and conditioning when i was about 4 or 5 and its carried on since then, ive been doing martial arts for about 17 years or so. why do you assume i only learn one style? we are like sponges why absorb a drop of moisture when you can soak up much more throughout your life.

I assumed that because you kept going on about Shaolin and how great it was all the time. Even sponges have their limits and must be emptied once in a while

yes they do as do people have limitations with how much they can learn in a lifetime. and yeah shaolin is the biggest part of my training i guess, shaolin drill training and conditioning take up 70% of my "out of work training time". while working i dont do martial arts much unless a client is interested in that approach to getting in shape, for about 4-5 hours per day i do regular training, cardio, wieghts, machines etc, but when im not working as a personal trainer or gym instructor, thats when i do my real training i find western training easy and not challenging compared to hard eastern martial art methods, just my personal opinion though.
