The way I understand it historically this is what Tai Chi was always meant to be. It's just that this isn't how it's usually practiced in the western world. I know my teacher has been getting into Chen Style Tai Chi and he describes it as extremely explosive and combat-oriented. I don't know much about it personally, but judging from how explosive his kung fu is I don't doubt him for a minute. Yes, this does sound like Tai Chi to me, I just wish you saw it practiced this way more often.

yes it does sound like my Taiji, minus the broken bones I'm working on getting a group togather to do it with but, no one around here seems to want to play Sure I got your normal school to go to, like every other small town, but the best thing there is gjj (you know, dry hump your assailant for forty minutes and wait for the ref to step in)
