Naw...I agree with that part, Triangle...but badmouthing striking in general is fucking retarded. Did he see what Silva did to Saku?...and that's a sportive example...

Why did people even think they could fight before mma? There should be a ban on traditional arts for the students' own safety.

Bas Rutten started Pancrase without any grapling experience, didn't keep him from winning...heck he even told his opponent that if they would not hit while on the ground he wouldn't do so either, most of his opponents were all to willing to oblige to that

So Gibbonman your statement is just plain wrong

Yeah, even if that is true, how many percentage of the world are MMA fighters? Less than 0.1%?

Right...is that why Chuck Liddell's excellent counter shooting is the reason he beat Tito Ortiz with PUNCHES?

Its useless replying to this troll, it wouldnt be likely if he even came back here especially with all the flaming he's recieved. Gibsonman has most likely been banned.

Of course if they were to do like spinning flippy kicks over the guy they'd get their butts kicked, but kung fu isnt crap, with the training, as i said, they train hard and they get great speed and power so they become stronger. Saying that "some" moves of kung fu, not the fancy fist movements and stuff would be good in a fight, but stuff like they way they train for the fancy movements, that could make them much more limber for evading a simple punch or kick from any guy on the street. It's not in the martial art, it's all in the fighter themselves, if they are to incorperate the useful stuff, and just not even think about the fancy useless stuff, then kung fu or something like that would prove useful. there i have said it. Think of what you wish of me, but thats what i think.

Damn you sound pissed. What I think you should do is go fight in UFC and represent how badass kung-fu is. Thats what Gracie did for bjj and now every loves it. REP YO SHIT MAN

another one of those MA1 vs MA2 posts eh!

to me, MMA,kung fu, karatae etc are all ultimately the same and are as effective as each other, they are all designed to defend one self and to attack others. I have no problems with people studying one path of art and that they will be as effective as a MMA as long as they are aware of what arts are out there. This is where MMA is an advantage as they have experience and awareness of whats out there.
A final note is that MMA, kung fu and karatae ultimately does not imply any style, rather a term used in they way of fighting.

The worse thing about grappling with a guy you've just eviscerated is getting blood all over your tee shirt.
