Default Change of Wing Chun classes.

Hi everyone,

I am currently doing Kamon Wing Chun at the moment which I thoroughly enjoy but the timings of the class mean that I am forced to look at other alternatives due to work constraints..........I came across the following website, now it is Wing Tsun that they do, the website is:- http://www.wingtsjun.com/index.php?id=387

Ther is a logo of Martial Arts international on it, does this mean it is internationally approved or what? anyone come across this school before as they have clubs all over the world, or any thoughts about it?

Leung Ting and WT suck. There are far far better wing chun instructors around. I have trained with three WT instructors in the UK and decimated them all, and I'm not even that good.

Never look at logos of approval - I could buy several logos and national coaching awards for a few quid.
Far better to find someone who can actually teach.
It is a shame you are leaving Kamon - but don't get sucked into the McDojo of WT. One of our students joined WT a year ago and they want him to help teach now!

You can form your own association and call it what you like, even get it ratified with many different martial arts organisations as long as you tell them what they want to hear and then pay them enough, not that I am cynical, lol.

Don't know the association or heard of the names before, but that counts for little, I have stayed away from the politics of Wing Chun for many years, so I cannot really make any statements on their worth.

It should cost you nothing to go along and ask some questions, I would keep your prior experience of Wing Chun private until you have a chance to get a feel for how the club is run and observe their methods and practices.

Where you train is really your choice, it is your money apart from your health that is the main point to consider. Having a teacher and training partners you can trust is the main prerogative in my mind, the decision to where you train however will always fall to you.

Even a poor school as long as it is not too expensive or violent can give you the opportunity to continue your personal path through the Wing Chun system using your prior experience until you find a more suitable school, of course there is also the option of training outside Wing Chun, they are again your choices to make depending on personal preferences.

Sorry to be of little help but such is life lol.
