He himself is of course also very vague about his past relationships, so he is not “faggy” with limp wrists and a lisp. He does however have a feminine quality to him, that makes women flock around him because he comes off a sensitive and romantic gentleman. He is a bit of a James Bond parody in that if he wanted he could sleep with a new woman every night. .
Hey, I'm a romantic gentleman. Does that somehow make me gay?

I think most folks don't talk about their past relationships because its rude and that's the last thing most women want to hear - just imagine how a date would go if a guy talked about how much he and his ex-girlfriend were in love (strike one - she doesn't want to hear about how awesome of a couple they were and the romantic things they used to do together) and had a shitty break-up (strike two - looking for reasons to break up already, right? )

Big no-no's in dating.

Aw, don’t take it personal. I’m a woman myself, and the “sensitive, romantic gentleman being gay” part is an in-joke. You know, the idea that “all the good ones are either married or gay”.
Also, I’m making a bit fun of the idea that women like to hang out with gay men. Obviously the women around him has no idea that he is gay, and a lot of them would probably be repulsed if they found out (it is after all the Victorian era), but they are still drawn to him, and confuse the fascination with love.

That’s the thing about the character. He does talk about past relationships because he is not interested in starting a new one, and most certainly not with a woman. He is just always vague about the gender, and people automatically assume he’s talking about women.

I think it sounds like someone is extremely jealous and trying hard to C-block the guy from getting a new girlfriend, doesn't it?

Sounds like you're trying to twist a story to fit an agenda.

This was what I feared was going to happen if I told you he was gay. His sexuality is really not that important in the story, so this is quite irrelevant. I only told you because it seemed important if it was a man or a woman. Even in the story the reader is never told what gender his “lover from the east” was. A lot of things about him is never said directly, you just have to figure it out yourself. Like, I never say “he disliked cats”, but there are plenty of things hinting at it. Out of all the people who have read the script so far, more have noticed that he doesn’t like cats than that he is gay, which should tell you something about how big a role his sexuality plays.

So can we please get back to martial arts?

Now I'm getting a bit confused. Are you saying that because it's a weird sentence? Because English is not my first language, so I often ends up saying some pretty weird stuff

Dear god, no! I don’t feel like I can express myself at all in English, so I wouldn’t dare unless I got help from someone who spoke the language far better than me. I won’t even try to translate snippets of my story for people to read on the net, because I know it’s going to sound horrible.
