That's the point of techniqe. WC was invented by a woman to fight off bigger and stronger men. I train with larger men every day. It's not that hard if you don't fight strength with strength. I can't beat these guys arm wrestling, so why use brute strength? Angles, deflection, and re-direction makes their superior strength a weakness.
Sure, a larger man can take me to the ground. But what I allow him to do once there is what counts. We train to block strikes while being mounted by an opponent, and to roll them off, keep them from submitting, and choking.
They wrap and arm, we still have another to punch with.
It's not what people expect when grappling to get punched reapeatedly while so close.
As for Systema, I won't argue with you. Search it on yahoo videos or not. I really don't care.

The origional person starting the thread asked about wing chun, and peoples opinions of it. I train wing chun, so I answered his question. Effectiveness came into question, and I tried to use my personal experences as examples, and apparently, Jubji, who knows nothing about me, has already decided that he knows all about me and my style.

You will be judged by your own words. Choose them carefully.

Sifu Emin Boztepe

Our students hit their opponent 20-30 times running them out of the ring each time, but judges deem the fight won by TKD because they don't know what Chain Punching is.

If you use BJJ on the street you will get hurt or killed. While your spending so much time on one attacker, his buddies have stomped your head. WC is designed to end the conflict within 6-10 seconds.
Find men that aren't pussies...or actually want to hurt you, which for you, shouldn't be too hard.

Kali, eh? What system??? WC simple? Bullshit. It relies almost ENTIRELY on fine motor functions and only works in trapping range. You're so fucking full of shit I don't know where to fucking start...but somebody has brainwashed your ass pretty damn good if you can't pick out such obvious fucking flaws.

TKD???Get serious!

Agreed, BJJ alone might not be the best solution in a street situation...but...meh...I'd say it has the same probablility of working as WC...why? Because both of those arts limit themselves to one fucking range.

Emin Boztepe's (self proclaimed hot shit) art

yeah fucking right.

This is where wing chun works...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UDBA...ch=wing%20tzun
trapping range...and trapping range only.

To be honest I can believe this. Because she'll only be fighting these pencil necked Wing Chun arse-holes. My pet Budgie could beat 'em.

Okay, I am 23 stone, six foot three and this is fat not muscle...

I have found that it does not matter how big a person is - if they are good, they are good. Kevin Chan is a third of my size and can beat me up in an instance. Strength and power are hard to use on someone who knows how to use their whole bodyweight.

On average, a bigger person will beat a smaller person. Many arts work towards breaking this rule. Many arts do not - they just seperate the weights (boxing, Muay Thai, competitions like the UFC, Pride etc)

Wing chun is one of the arts that attempts to even the ground. It does not matter how strong, big you are.

I agree that fighting a massive person is difficult - but if you train yourself well they should be just another target.

Hitting the right spots will always drop a person, no matter how big they are.

As for chi sao - it is a drill designed to help your hands react quicker, sense movement in your opponent without using your sight and to learn how to capture angles. You are not going to use it on the street, but you will use what you have learnt from it on the street.
