style this style that...
having been to both thai land and china i can say that ...the thais are very good at thai boxing and the chinese very good at kung fu..... i spent time with the phuket champion and no way was he anywhere near as fast as the chinese kung fu masters i met.... thailand is a place where full contact fighting is a way of life and everyone no's what everyone else is capable in china the guy next door walk walks quitely always smiles to people and talks softly has just as much chance of being the deadliest man alive as the guy on the corner acting like they are because they dont want everyone to know what they are capable off....... the way jet lee move in the movies is slow by comparison ...if there was levels of say one to fifty he would be ten....no way to want to mess with a 9 let alone a one :-)

To learn what? Your silly, childish drivel about the quiet chinese superman? Get over your romantic notions. Reality is quite interesting enough without embellishment. ![]()

jubaji try reading what i said i didnt mention a superman just that in the chinese culture you are less likely to know who is proficent in martial arts than you would be in the thai culture ... and like i said i tried but you have a tendency to try to pick fault rather than see what is being said..and you got it wrong.....

ohh and just thought i add it isnt quite or romantic im trying to get you to keep your eyes open and not take everything at face value now i may have a small world view that the person i consider most dangerous..because of what i know.. some of his own family isnt even aware he knows any martial arts...in school i got picked once by three guys but the toughest got the others to fight first.... ... there was a realy geeky guy who was into heavey metal and realy quite so one day the toughest guy in school...(teachers got beaten up a couple of times in my school) ... decided to trip him over in front of friends and laugh well the geeky quite guy picked himself up and layed this guy out with one punch this guy was big people called him moose.... now because i payed attention to people and noticed things id noticed that he would have scabs on his nucles and after seeing this acouple of times asked him why...well apparently his dad had been in the army in japan and was tought ninjitsu by a friend of his ..so this guy used to practice punching a log with rope tyed around it to toughen his nuckles......... so for example to so caled toughest guy in school had not been so egotistical and had noticed that this guy had scars or scabs on his nuckles he could have avoided getting punched out in front of his mates..... wonder what would/will happen to you jubaji ..toughest people are the ones you cant pick ..because they are that good they dont need anyone to think they are tough.....

Oh, I see. So "in china the guy next door has just as much chance of being the deadliest man alive they are because they dont want everyone to know what they are capable off....... the way jet lee move in the movies is slow by comparison" is just average in your mind (such as it is)

actualy jubaji yes it is average...
thats the point im trying to make im sure you recal poking fun about my girlfriend being able to beat me after doing a style that was only forms ... there are several anglo instructors who are very good and dont let on ..its generaly a lack of self respect or a low self image that forces people in the martial arts community to want to show how good they are..the best stay quite and you couldnt pick them out..... and no im not bragging hell im using an alias so what would be the point but ive beaten most of the instructors in melbourne and the people i work with day to day dont think i could punch my way out of a paper bag ..but then on the street i get some people who look at me like they see completely what im capable of and i look at these people and see how dangerous they could be should they choose to do so.... and yes its a stupid wing chun saying but "one who excells as a warrior does not appear formidable"
