Default Sambo subforum?

Why is there no subforum for Sambo guys? I see basically every other art (or at least country that has arts) has its own subforum

I believe it has been grouped in with the MMA stuff, not officially or anything, but just from lack of anywhere else to discuss it. But you are right. It should have its own catagory.

Is that a fair question jubaji?

Part of the reason there might not be a lot of Sambo practitioners here is because they don't have a place for their art. Opening a branch up to them might bring in more people to the forums.

Yes, it is. How many Savate practitioners are there here? Should a forum be opened up for them in the hopes that, ala Costner, they will come?

Forgive my lack of understanding of the cyber world, because I'm sure this will show off just how much I don't know... but would it hurt anything to have one?

Does it cost extra to have another subsection on the forum? I guess I'm just more of a "why not" person.

Hey, its up to the folks who own/run the site, but it seems to me that at some point you end up with 10,000 subforums where everyone is segregated and either no one discusses anything other than, "Oh yeah, I agree!" or you end up with 'forum watchdogs' where any comment not officially sanctioned by the X-art guild is accused of invading someone else's territory. Not condusive to discussion.

I am a firm believer of a happy medium in there somewhere.

Perhaps what we need is just one more heading under the martial arts section that is for "other martial arts". That would keep things from getting out of hand, but would give the people who practice less common arts a place to discuss their speciality.

There's nothing stopping anyone from discussing whatever art they like already.

Okay, so a better question for el guapo to have asked then instead of a "can we make a new sub forum?" would be "where do I go to discuss Sambo?"

But I'll let him ask that and figure it out.
