If anyone is interested there is a TV show on the History Channel named "Warriors", where a Special Forces guy goes around and learns all the fighting skills of ancient warriors. There was one episode on the Samurai and to my surprise they had one of the Japanese Shihans demonstrating the Jo and the Kusarigama. I can't remember the Japanese Shihan's name but his movement to me was impressive. I'm sure like all of the History Channel's programs it'll be back on rerun.

Yesterday, instead of regular class....our training group held our 4th annual BUjinkan Pumpkin Massacree.

Apparently, our instructor picked this up from a guy he trained with in Texas. We bring all our old pumpkins left over from Halloween and then practice cutting them into little bits with a live blade. (We're lucky in that our instructors neighbor carved 110 pumpkins this year and let us take what we wanted :)

This was the first time I've gotten to participate in this bit of fun....and the first time I've gotten to do more than just look at a live blade. It was fun and wildly educational. It's amazing how, with the right body mechanics (don;t jsu tmusle the sword with your arm) how easily they cut. The goal was to take as thin a slice as possible off the target....make as many little pieces as you could.

Anyway, wanted to share how cool this was. Can't wait for next year.

Peace,
Erik

Hello,

I am posting this to inform you about the new community Ninpo Europe, an effort of briefing about ninpo, honouring Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi Soke of the Bujinkan Dojo, and helping / promoting Bujinkan instructors (Shidoshi and Shihan) around Europe. We would like Ninpo Europe to become an online meeting point for every one of us who our entire life are involved in Ninpo Taijutsu training. As with every large effort, this too requires the aid of many individuals, so we ask for your help to make this web-site better.

So if you are a Shidoshi, Shihan, or even if you are interested in learning more about Ninpo, please visit us and support our work!

The website is http://www.ninpo.eu, feel free to register and contact us for improvement ideas.

Yours sincerely,
George Georgiou
