Any of the variations on Filipino or Indonesian Martial Arts would work and I do believe Thailand has some weapons systems of its own that would probably incorperate well.

Arnis footwork is very simular to MT footwork. I have done both and they compliment eachother very well. Also Krabi Kabong is the system that MT came from and they employ some cool weapons, so the are the best match.

Arnis is the most popular filipino martial art, it sometimes called Escrima and a few peoples use the word Kali for it. Arnis and silat are in my opinion the best arts for weapon fighting.

Burmese Bando has also some nice weapon training but it may be difficult to find instruction.

Give this a try, i believe that this is exactly what you are looking for.

Krabi Krabong. We often supplement our Kali training with this. Buy the tape, the techniques are simple and effective.
