![]() | hi rapidassault16. I have a kubotan that I use to carry with me at all times. I tried it with keys and with out. I found that with keys on it was not what worked for me. but how ever if you put keys on it you can use them as part of the weapon. So buy having keys on the kubotan you can slap your opponent with them. doing this dosen't only hurt but is a good distraction. I found that even with this it didn't feel right or work for me. So this is a presonal choice.Besides what I like about not having keys on the kubotan is it's silent. Sometimes you don't want your opponent to know that you have something. The reson for this is even if you don't strick them with it I can still use as a tool to make him or her think that it's something else. doing this will make them react differently. I don't know were you live but here it can be against the law to carry a kubotan on you, so for this reson I now carry a peace of dowel on me about 1/2 " x 4-5" long that way if by chance there's ever a problem I can through it away and not be concerned. |

![]() | Hello, I don't carry a kubaton key chain anymore, but I do carry a Surefire 6P flashlight, which I use as a substitute. Also, I do have a kubotan length dowel and a metal window punch, in my vehicle which can also be used inlieu of the kubotan. Gumagalang Guro Steve L. www.Bujinkandojo.net |

![]() | Yaay a kubaton thread . Although my instructor has advised me they are illegal, i carry my kubaton with my when ever i think a rough situation could arise, e.g. night clubs, rough parts of the neighbour hood. Ive never had to use it yet. I don't like having keys attached to it, but ive been told ur keys can be used very nicely as a weapon by themselves, but i don't want to be maiming people for the rest of their lives My favorite thing about it is when i can analyse a situation might get ugly, i grip it in my pocket ready for an acending hammer fist. and if im ever caught without it i usuall opt for my Ipod nano because its edges are hard and its roughly the right shape. Ive also thought it would be useful for breaking fights apart because u can position yourslef behind the target ur trying to pull away then use the kubaton to manipulate them by applying pressure to the temple, cheek bone, mouth, under jaw, the neck and collar bones.
