Atienza Kali/Cold Steel Challange
Atienza Kali is pleased to announce that Josh Votaw of Atienza Kali has won 1st place at this years Cold Steel Challange sword fighting competition. This is the second year in a row that a member of AK has won the competion.

I am the unfortunate combatant that has placed second to your school two years in a row. Congradulations Josh, well done!!! I hope to steal the title from you next year, although I will be 52!!!! (I mean this in a friendly way). All of you were honorable and fair fighters. Thank you for the awesome competiion. See you next year!!!

Thanks Tony for the kind words. It was such a great experience being able to travel across the country with Atienza Kali and participate in an event such as Cold Steel. People were very hospitable, curious, and thoughtful. One of the factors that stick out in my mind is the level of sportsmanship exhibited during the competitions. I look foward to what next year brings in terms of
old and new faces from all the different schools including Atienza Kali. Once again, I was very happy to meet and be exposed to so many different people from a variety of great systems out there. Respectfully, Josh AtienzaKali.com |

What's great is that there's so many excellent AK reps out there, that people are just beginning to scratch the depth of AK's system. AK reps have been sparring with Sayoc students for so long now that we take quality skirmishes for granted. --Rafael-- Sayoc Kali |
