Ok, I guess it's clear that there are two elements here. 1) An attack, as is on the street. 2) Is an actual bout with knives. Neither are welcome, and usually blood is shed, but not everyone dies. Thanks to the Filipino Arts, we in America have gotten to the point of understanding just what is what. I, as those before me in the early seventies taught Al Gotay, at the NYC Police Academy, in relation to that we have saved many from injury, and some from death, that is when you train like your life depends on it, it can do the work necessary, albeit you may still get cut, but in the real world, you do get a chance when you train. I've trained a few police officers and some that teach police officers and I insist that they train the same way, "Like your life depends on it." And you will have the chace to survive a real attack.

In the battle field, just as we found in Viet Nam, run trough the jungle, no fighting allowed!.
