Ok... I apologize now if I am not suppose to post this in here but was not sure where to post it. My good friend and LAMECO brother Guro Roger Agbulos asked me to help him get the word out on this project. It is a realty tv project.

Casting Stick Fighters

Major LA based production company is seeking MMA Stick Fighters for a new competition based TV project. Must be willing to fight with a non-padded stick and minimal protection. We are seeking the best fighters from each school that are charismatic with strong personalities.

You must be:

Male
MMA Single Stick Fighter
Minimal Protection
In shape to ripped
5'7 and over
18 and over

Loads of people do this, not just them. Its normal in escrima.

Ummmmm, not sure what you mean by saying they are called Dog Brothers. I know who the Dog Brothers are what they do but not sure if they are involved in this project or not. I am waiting to get more information on this project and will post that information once I have it.

Ok, I just got off the phone with Bryan Stinson who is the suprervising Casting Producer for this project. He said they are looking for two fighters right now in order to film the pilot presentation and present it to the networks. This show is going to be along the lines of "Ultimate Fighter" and the "Contender." They are not sure what the rules are going to be just yet. Their main goal right now is to find two guys that are great stickfighters but more importantly find two guys who have great personality in front of the camera.

Once they find the two guys they are going to shoot a 4-5 minute video that will give the background of each fighter and will show the lead up to the fina lfight between them. This video will be presented to the networks in hopes of getting picked up.

After talking with him about this show and the direction they would like to take it I can tell you that if it all works out this is going to be an awesome show.

Sounds fantastic Tim.

I spoke to Neil this afternoon and he was psyched. Neil is 16 times British, 4 times European, and 2 times World stick fighting champion. That is full armour, low armour and no armour (Phillipines). He is also the former British Vale Tudo Champion and considered to be, by Myself and many others, the best young instructor under Guro Inosanto in the world (his promotions under Guro have been the fastest ever). Hey, if that isn't a great CV to get on the show then I don't know what is!

In terms of personality he is a wonderful guy, very articulate and inspirational. He would be perfect for the show and I really hope he goes for it. I will pass your update on to him.

Tim,
It would be a real surprise if Marc Denny et al were not already in the loop on this, but he posts here from time to time, and of course he has his own website with a pretty good forum. You might consider posting it there, since those guys have been largely responsible for bring the full contact stickfighting idea to the public consciousness in America, and since some of the world's very best fight with them. I think your friend Roger would be doing a huge disservice to the show by leaving them out.
