Get a stick or large dowel of hardwood.

Get an old tire and hang it from the rafter in your garage.

Hit the tire with your stick.

Swing or spin the tire and hit it with your stick.

Set up other THINGS near the tire to HIT with your stick.

Hit things with your stick.

Try not to break your stick.

Go hit...

tire training is very important...you should also strike the target with your max. torque....i know for a fact that strikeing without torquing the body does not yeild as much power as when you torque...try to practice your striking as near perfect as you can muster(depending on your systems style of striking)..try not to break your stick at first..but in our method we do want to break our sticks....just my two cents...hope this helps.

the tyre i have got that i use for my sledgehammer training is to big and heavy to hang , but i hang my heavy sandbag but i imagine hitting a tyre you get more of a bounce, what i trying to say should i try and get a smaller tyre or is it ok to keep using my sandbag.

i have the right stick and need to know a training routine and an instructional website/video.
Find Paul Vunak tape on stick fighting. First do the movements slow and precise.
Do not train with partner with weapons without supervision from instructor. Good luck.

This is my opinion for what it is worth. It is not as good advice as you have already gotten here, but just my opinion.Since you are 14 and quite young maybe start with more conventional, empty hand martial arts.Schools are much easier to find, they are everywhere.First learn basics of fighting.Karate, kung fu,tae kwon do all teach how to punch and footwork and basic stuff.or join wrestling team and learn grappling. Then just get a stick and practice like people tell you here.Without an instructor,if you and someone start hitting each other with sticks, anything can happen and probably will.I teach stick fighting and I dont accept students under 18,but that is just me.(basically for self-preservation as I don't want to deal with the angry mothers after me because their kid got hit in the eye or something.)
