Default Terrorist Attack

The UK news is describing the attack as nothing less than a declaration of war, however as yet (6.27pm BST) no-one is admitting responsibility.

Pray for the families.

Right now, all the fingers are pointing at Osama Bin Laden and his group. He was responsible for the attack on the World Trade Center in '93, the attacks on American Embassies more recently, and had a couple of other failed attacks over the years. Also, about 3 wks ago, he threatened an attack on the U.S. of "catastrophic proportions."

No guarantees yet, but he's the prime suspect.

Default Attack

Hi,

Again from the UK news, Bin Laden's people have denied involvment. This is unusual in that they normally are the first in line when attacks against the US have happened.

At this very moment I think those responsible will be keeping a very low profile due to the liklihood of an "extreme" response from the US.

LOL ... if what I've heard from some other folks via e-correspondence is representative of the US feelings at all (and I'd guess it is), "extreme response" is probably an understatement ... and I don't think anyone will blame us (US) for what happens if (hopefully, when) we do find out who *is* responsible.

As I say, though, what I've heard on the news here in US, the fingers are still pointing at Bin Laden as primary suspect. Of course, he may be denying it because he knows the response would be pretty major.

On the one hand, I hope that authorities don't jump the gun and get the wrong person/people ... but on the other hand, I hope reprisal is swift ... if for no other reason than the morale of American citizenry.
