| Registered User | Up until this week, it went away pretty much. However, this week it has come back full force, and it now actually hurts to do things, things as simple as leaning over. I have no idea what it could possibly be... muscle, bone, etc... so I don't know what to do. I don't want to go to the doctor and have him tell me to "rest and keep icing it." I also don't know if a chiropractor would be able to help, as I've never been to one before in my life. It is getting progressivly worse, and I think it's time I do something about it. Any insight is much appreciated. -S

![]() | it's a shame no one has replied to this. Similar thing happened to me with a muscle right above my knee. I could do ANY lower body work and some upperbody exercises for almost two weeks. The thing is, sometimes ur muscles get REALLY tight, and you just got to do light cardio and stretch and take it easy. Icing it actually made it worse for me. Hope this helps, and I hope everything goes back to normal soon.

My back has actually cleared up quite nicely, although there are still times when a little pain is noticable. I did end up going to a chiropractor a few times and it probably helped a little, but I'm betting that the same progress could have been made without it. For the most part, I can train and work out now with little to no problems compared to before. There are times when I wake up though in the morning and it gives me a little trouble. Thanks for asking!

![]() | I would go in for some massages every once in a while. A good masseuse will get the blood flowing and the bad stuff goin. After an injury like that the blood flow could be a little stuffed up and the increased blood flow experienced from a massage helps to ease and hopefully heal the pain not to mention help you feel looser and more relaxed. A visit to the masseuse at the local gym will do wonders. Also I would like to add that most chiropractors are full of it. I had a friend go to one because he said they claimed they could get rid of ear aches and upset stomachs as well. didn't work. There are some legit guys but you got to shop around. Plus see a doctor. missing some training time is nothing compared to losing mobility.

![]() | Hi John, I just found this forum and seen your post and thought I'd reply, even though it has been a while since you posted. From the sounds of it, it may be a syatic (sp?) nerver injury. I have had two discs in my lower back removed and currently have a protruding disc in my upper spine so I know a bit of what you are going through. With your back pain, does it hurt in your right butt cheek? Weird question I know but that is one of the symptoms of a syatic nerver pinch. As well as pain moving down your leg, pain bending over (but not leaning backwards), and pain when stretching. All of these point to a syatic nerver pinch. I walked around for over a year with this injury and could barely move until I went to a chiropractor and was healed in less than 3 weeks. Now when it acts up I just do the exercises given to me by the chiropractor and voila, I'm all better. I would recommend going to a chiropractor and getting your spine readjusted. Many doctors would scoff at the idea but those quacks told me to put heat on it (THE WORST thing you can do for a syantic nerve injury!!!). In case your wondering, yes, I am currently training in jujutsu and have no problems but I do watch my limits and listen to my back. Best of luck to you man, just don't let it go, syatic nerve pinchs can go away for a short time but they'll be back with a vengence. Take care. badger |

![]() | hey - I heard the phrase - ' a sore muscle is a weak muscle ' and I think i agree, in my case any way. I have back pain too, although it goes away when I work on strengthening it - for this I use Wrestlers Bridging. Check out how to bridge - it may help. |
