Default Compare!

Here the price comparison: Treadmill-$500(shitty one) to $5000;Rowing machine $200-$ 3000(less than 200 is total crapppp);Jump rope $5-$20.The only thing rowing machine will do,that jump rope can't, is limited sculpting/toning of almost any muscle. For general endurance, cardio & coordination jump rope is the best.

You do martial arts right, so why do you need to do more cardio than that? Unless you're endurance really sucks, in which case sparring, heavy bag, and jump roping would be the best options. DOn't forget sprinting.

well, my suggestion is to not get caught up into trend machines. even though im sure they work, they are not going to get you fantastic amazing bodys like the people in there infomercials. stick with machines that have been around for awhile. however i dont think a machine is required or necesarry to make significant weight loss. like people have suggested get yourself a skip rope and a good pair of running shoes.

good luck :]

get a skipping rope AND some music. remember be mentally active aswell. get a nice bassy or fast tempo song and crank the volume to 10(or max) and let it rip. if ure gonna start skipping try it infront of the mirror at first (everytime if ure rich enough to install a full size mirror) it really helps to see your foot work and stop the mistakes. also (NOT BEING OFFENSIVE) happens to me seeing your self in the mirror motivates your self aswell.

These are three separate questions which I do not think can be answered by one machine. Being overly simplistic, weightloss is a function of reduction of calories (3500=1lb of actual fat) by diet and/or metabolism (aerobic or anarobic workouts). Exercise is one aspect of a healthy life style. I see many ppl with poor eating habits that are blessed with a naturally high metabolism, or that smoke a pack right after they leave the gym. Not too healthy.

I would suggest divesting the money into a gym for a complete work out run outside and as others suggested do not underestimate the power of a jump rope.

But answer your question I would buy a rowing machine and run outside, if you can't then the treadmill

Go out and buy some runnig shoes bro. I mean if you want you can start by walking. It all depends on your weather though I know where I used to live it rained all the time so I did a majority or running on a treadmil. Theres not much difference and actually if your a beginning runner a treadmil will teach you to keep pace and get comfortable keeping it. The more advance you get to get a good workout on it you will need to vary your speed and incline throughout the run to get a good natural effect. I'm not sure what your dealing with here so I'm trying to cover all bases. Actually I originally was going to answer this thread with a smart*** comments but I'm a sucker for trying to help the underprivelage with their goals. I have on more than a few occasions taken a friends under my wing and helped them with diet and the whole nine and its a great feeling when the person sheds bout 25-30lbs and starts getting comments from ppl and thanks you for it. Hmmm.....maybe I should be a personal trainer huh? LOL, anyways if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. Oh yeah depending on your current condition jumping rope is as easy as it seems or ppl oftem make it look. You can without a doubt workup to it no time but its often hard to start with something like that. The other post is right about calories also. 3500 calories is a pound any way you look at it. So if your goal is a losing a pound a week you need by the end of that week to either have burned or just plane consumed less 3500 claories less that what you took in or used....I dunno if i said that clearly enough though. Say your trying to lose 2lbs a week a very good rate to lose at and keep it off. Thats 1000 calorie deficit through exercise and diet. So if you burn 500 calories in your workout the other deficit should come from your diet. LIke instead of consuming 2500 calories a day you alter it to 2000 calories. Anyways I could prolly go on forever I hope that helped a lil anyways.

Ok so I just actually read what I wrote and totally got sidetracked with losing weight instead of addressing your initial question. The answer I sort of touched on but i just wanted to clarify. First if I were you I know its summer here in the US I would just do road work, walking, running, sprinting to a jog sprinting, this will increase your running rate in both terms of length and speed. find a sport you enjoy that is taxing but you don't notice for amount of fun your having ie: basketball, soccer, any sport you stay active during. If you do live in the US and like me couldn't run outside sometimes (due to snow or whatever) you can resort to machinces or a gym membership. A gym memberhsip was always the best for me once I got my foot in the gmy i was all set that was all the motivation I needed to put in a good workout.
