the only problem I've heard about with cracking your knuckles is that it causes your knuckles to grow larger. it will NOT cause arthritis, so far as I've seen anyway.

Somebody told me that it wore down the synovial joints in some manner, like erosion. This accounts for why people draw comparison to repititive motions and artritis....
But, hey, I ain't no docta, so, whateva.... |

lol, I think part of the point of OCD is that you can't stop. but hey biting your nails works well if you dun have constant access to clippers, and yeah, I think most people wash their hands too much anyway.
