Default Beef Jerky, high in protein, low on carbs, but HIGH in SODIUM

hey wats up guys im new here and im just tryin to get a lil fit before i leave to bootcamp for airforce. i do weights twice a week, and i try to beef up on protein after im done. the peice of beef jerky i just ate has 4 carbs, 150 calories, 30g protein, BUT 1000mg of sodium thats about 45% of daily intake. its so salty i drink about 16oz of water just to get the taste out. now my question is, is too much salt bad for you?? is it OK as long as u drink enough water?? thanks any input is appreciated

Most beef jerky is high in protein, try finding a brand with lower sodium.

    White Salt
. . . is another substance that creates untold physical problems
and suffering. The body needs sodium, but it must be in an organic form
(seasalt)in order to be usable by the body.

Table salt, sodium chloride, is an inorganic sodium compound formed by
the union of sodium and chlorine that is extremely toxic to the body.
This toxicity causes the body to retain fluid in an effort to keep this
protoplasmic poison in suspension and out of the cells.

You have much better clean protein choices out there than beef jerky for post-training nutrition. Jerky is ok for an occasional treat, but post workout food?

Try a protein shake, or try keeping boiled eggs in the fridge that you can just grab and eat. If your worried about the fat in eggs, just eat the egg whites. Hope this helps!

    I'm with Dead Nerd.
While the majority of your daily food intake should come from solid foods, post workout is a perfect time for a protein shake.
Try 40g whey protein isolate and 40g dextrose (carbs-or use Gatorade or Powerade powder). Have the powders in a shaker cup and fill it with water as you leave the gym.
