What do you mean by training speed? What kind of speed are you looking for, punching, kicking, takedown, submission, etc?

ive tried a few methods of getting my strikes faster.

first thing you do is make sure you have good basics.
break down every movement in the attack and perfect each one so you can minimize on unessecary movements and also make your attack much more effective.

and the second thing is try to speed it up. keep in mind while you speed up your attack that you dont forget anything you learned in the first step. dont cut your movements or get sloppy.

and the third thing i know of is just try to do something faster. what i like to do is find someone about the same speed as me and try to attack faster than them. i think thats the best way. or maybe im wrong. try any of these at your own risk.

im not too sure about legs but, if you want to speed up your arms and still keep strong, wear weighted gloves or ankle weights on your arms. worked for me and ive been told i have fast hands. the same might work for legs but, im not sure.

iron rings are great for speed and strength as well as building endurance...because they can slide up and down your arm they are not as rough on the joints.

Default Speed

Speed bag, Wing Chun Dummy, Heavy Bag, Double end Bag

I've heard that using weights on your wrists and ankles makes you move slower during training therefore slowing your muscles when you take off the weights.

Also,

I have dabbled in a few styles (Wing Chun, Modern Arnis, Kempo and now Muay Thai) and one thing they all have in common was the words "Slow is smooth, smooth is fast"

Speed comes with fluidity and good form

Ok, thanks to all of you I personally don't like ankle and wrist weights, your attack motion is ruined when you train with them, I think...

like i said dude look into iron rings. they weigh 1-3lbs each and slide up and down the forearm. if you dont use more weight than you can handle it does not interfere with your movements or form. now if you try to be a he man and try stupid amounts of weight then yea...itll screw up your form.

To use ankle weights for speed you should going running with them on for about 5 minutes as your warm up and then take them off and you will find that your faster im no its only temp but will help in the long run.

get wieghts straped to your legs arms waist and head, then go jogging, do push ups, hit the bag, shaddow box, n other light training while the wieghts are on to increase your all round fighting speed.
