Default Capoeira students

Me and my girlfriend are going to do capoeira next year and I want us to be ready for the classes, so what can we do to prepare for it?

Capoeira's a pretty high-intensity class. If you're unfit, it'll get you fit quick smart. If you're fit, class will be easier, and you'll be able to focus on the techniques more than panting and sweating.

So if you haven't started yet, and you're still looking for things to do before you start, I'd recommend doing things that will help with fitness - maybe some jogging, skipping, and definitely stretch after you've done your fitness workout!!!

You cant say its not effective if you never tried it or seen it in a fight.

Basic fintness exercises are fine just dont try to start doing capoeira moves
till you actually beggin your trainning.

for more info visit www.grupocafu.com

asfar as effective the only way a non capoeirista can say that is if they have stepped inside a capoeira roda.
it was a martial art first before anything mainstream is showing now.
and it still remains a martial art.

I'd love to see someone pick a fight with a capoeira dude in a dance club....

And don't listen to that wack BJJ preacher.

Byob...I'd suggest enrolling in a gymnastics rec class somewhere, just to get your basic of basics down. Have fun. Peace.

Just don't practice, train or spar to a beat or music, it will telegraph your movements and make it easier to counter-attack them.

Other then that, just try to get into shape and make sure you've got time set aside that you can use for training.

Jump rope. I tried a capoeira class once and they had us doing a lot of jumping during the warmup, my calves were sore for a week.

Yikes!

Capoeira?

If I tried that stuff the bad guy wouldn’t have to do anything except wait until I either got so dizzy and collapse to the floor and puked or I brake myself in two with some type of contorted upside down thingy.
