I've just recently discovered this site www.crossfit.com and am curious if it is an effective form of exercising. Just doing there "workout of the day"(W.O.D.). Has anyone done this? What do you think about this kind of exercising program?

You should ask Treelizard.
She's been one of the most vocal supporters of the system and she sticks to it. I've tried some of the Level III tests and there are a handfull that I still can't do. It looks solid, but again Tree has the most experience with it. I think Gregimotis has been doing it for a while know, too.

At least two of us here have experimented with it. I haven't stuck to it religiously but yes, I think it delivers.
The W.O.D.'s are well desinged - some days easy, some days murder, enough variety to keep it interesting and work lots of body function. I am in pretty good shape, and it was a couple weeks before I could complete many of the W.O.D.'s at all.

Without a doubt, it delivers!

I just went to their certification seminar a couple weekends ago. There were about 20 SEALs in the mix and even they were exhausted from the workouts. It's an awesome system. It's worked better for me than anything else I've tried. Having said that, I'd recommend starting out easy--I've also gotten more injuries from CF than anything I've tried, which I'd say is probably user error. Having a coach teach you the basics before doing them wrong over and over again and hurting yourself is probably a good idea.
