bodylastics is on a distinguished road
Default Strength Training for MMA

When I first started training in Brazilian jujitsu with Craig Kukuk back in 1993, everyone would tell me that to get better at jujitsu all you had to do was more jujitsu. The fact of the matter is that this is contrary to what is going on in professional sports today.

All professional football teams, baseball teams, and other sports have a strength and conditioning program for their athletes. In this respect most martial artists are far behind the curve.

The problem of course is always time. How do you find the time to train in mixed martial arts and still perform a strength training program 3 to 4 times a week?

Besides living at the gym there are other solutions. What I have found is that utilizing two pieces of home exercise equipment has helped me to get in workouts when I just don't feel like going to the gym or if I am traveling.

One of these is a quality set of resistance bands such as Bodylastics. The other one is a revolutionary isometric exerciser.

If you have not been using isometric exercise as part of your mixed martial arts training program you are certainly hampering your strength program. By the way the isometric exerciser I'm talking about is called Bully Xtreme isometric exerciser.

If you would like to learn more about the Bodylastics or the Bully Xtreme there are two great articles over Ezinearticles.com. For the sake of saving time I have added links to the bottom of this post.
