Hi

Its not a question of using exercise to target one area of your body that carries excess fat, thats not the way the body works. You are carrying excess fat, full stop, its just on your mid section because that is the area of the body that has the most surface mass to store fat.

For a male in their 30's this excess fat around the mid section is typically not exercise related, but more a case of consuming too many of the wrong calories, typically at the wrong time of day. You haven't outlined your diet so I won't guess or speculate, but the problem is solved far more easily by reducing your caloric intake than it is trying to increase your caloric output.

Also, a month on a treadmill for a 32 year old adult is neither here nor there. To shift weight in your 30's will take a dedicated period of dropping excess calories and upping your exercise on a consistent basis for a series of months. Also bear in mind that weight training burns calories for several hours longer than cardiovascular exercise, its a common misconception that its the other way round.

I've just thrown a bunch of stuff in there because without really understanding your diet and lifestyle it hard to offer an accurate answer.
