Question Dumbbell Circles?

I am reading The Art of Expressing the Human Body. In one chapter, an exercise called Dumbbell Circle is explained:

...The dumbbells are simultaneously rotated in vertical circles in front of the body, with the wrists turned up at the bottom of the outward arc and turned down on the inner arc.

I am unsure how to perform this exercise, and trying without knowing how might injure my limbs. Can someone explain the Dumbbell Circle in a less confusing manner?

If I read you correctly, you have your arms straight out in front of you with the elbows straight (not locked)?

If so, this might be an exercise to strengthen your rotator cuffs and all of the ligaments/tendons on your shoulders.

IF this is the case, go with light dumbells only and slowly work into higher weights, but don't go too high.

I hope this helps. You really need to be careful not to overexert on this one.

We really need a physical therapist to answer this question. I will see if the Don has one on his payroll.

Funny though,

My sensei is a Sage and a Gemini. What a small world, eh?

What's a sage? And gemini, you mean the zodiac sign?

Think of sage being the same thing as wise (unlike myself) and Gemini as in the zodiac sign. I just thought it sounded and looked like a cool name.
