![]() | I`m a beginner with only about 3-4 months experience. Is it too early to do this ? The only thing I`ll be doing with the ankle weights are: Knee strikes, my own Thai Roundhouse kick (since my school has not teached me it yet) , and skip rope with it, or jog. So if you got any suggestions about this, please reply. |

![]() | If you have only been doing ma for only 3-4months, i would recommend just doing doing raises with no weights for now. When you have come to the point were it becomes easy to do these, then add weight. Try these: Stand in your left stance(you might need to hold something to balance on), bring you front leg up as if to do a front kick. Hold it out as high as you can where it is comfortable, try to get your leg to be parrelel with the floor. Then raise your leg up and down for 10 reps, but try not to go any lower then your starting position, when you bring your leg down on each rep. Then do it in the right stance and then in your sidekick stance, each side as well. This will greatly increase your balance to. You can change the excersise a little, by trying to hold your leg for 30 secs instead of 10 reps. Hope some of this made sense and can help. |
