- Guru Daniel Sulestya Agung Prasetya

Guru Daniel Sulestya Agung Prasetya was born in Surabaya, Indonesia, He started learning Pencak Silat from Master Paikan, a guru from the Pencak Silat Nasional Perisai Putih.

The style that most influenced Guru Daniel is the The Madura style which he learned from his uncle, Master Pribadi. The Madura system comes from Madura Island, a neighboring island of Java. Its emphasis is in low wide stances, which have become the major core of Guru Daniel’s system. In 1990-1994, Guru Daniel learned another style of Pencak Silat from his great grand father Master RM Mangun Harjono, from Central Java. Master RM Mangun Harjono was a great grand son of Hamengkubuwono I, the king of the Mataram-Jogja kingdom. The system that Guru Daniel learned from his great-grandfather was passed directly from the royal family system of Java and was only taught to the royal family. This particular Central Java style is used for defense and focuses on inner power training."

Drawing on his diverse background and interest in Pencak Silat as a fighting art, Guru Daniel has organized the Pencak Silat that is his heritage, from his uncle and great-grandfather, into Persatuan Pencak Silat Inti Ombak. It means at its heart “Inner Wave”.

Guru Daniel over his many years has also gained considerable skills in such weapons as the staff, the sword, and the keris, his favorite weapon. He also on occasion entertains crowds with his exceptional internal skills, such as eating glass, breaking steel objects, handling and guarding against sharp objects, etc.
