Default Hello, please help

hey i just registered for this site and i was wondering if someone could help me out on something. Me and my freind are going to have a fight and he is about 5'11 and about 140 pounds, almost as strong as me and skinny, he went threw kick boxing and clams he knows some techniques that can seriously damage me. I am about 5'9 185 pounds, alot of it is muscle though although i admit i have a gut, i have little to no technique and hes probably alot faster than me. The only thing ive been relying on is the fact i wont let him win no matter what, which i doubt is going to help me much, please HELP! I would appretiate it. Another thing, im known as the big bad ass that no one fucks with in my school, and they only judge me by strength, if he beats me then well you get the idea.

Cover your lower face with your arms/elbows, get in close and grab. Hug him very tight (no kissing.....). Fall to the floor, ensuring you land on top, and hold him there. You can then batter him at will.

Kickboxers have no answer to these close up grappling tactics.

Yes they will all see that there is little substance to thier beliefs and you are a fraud. If you are a tough guy like you want everyone to think, be tough and fight. Bench press numbers mean very little and do not make you punch resistant. Win or loose I hope you will learn something

What style of kickboxing does your friend do? If its American style kickboxing, you can expect a lot of boxing and somewhat flashy kicks. If he trains in muay thai or san shou, he might have some grappling experience and clinch work (fighting from the "hug" position) in addition to boxing and kicking.

How soon are you guys fighting? What rules are you fighting? If this is an unorganized street fight, I'd back out even if you were a better fighter - too dangerous and unpredictable.

In the past he actually taught me some of it. Lol, i wouldnt exactly call it a street fight, maybe more like a dirt road fight. We live like out in the middle of no where. We are fighting once the snow goes away so maybe a month or two. The rules are who ever gives up first or is knocked out.

He did take kick boxing classes but i think half the crap he knows he gets off the internet, making him kind of unpredictable.
