Hi all,
I've been here before and read some of the posts but never bothered to register before. I also lurk around in the Underground and Kungfuonline.
I have been practising a northern kungfu style called Tongbei Quan for about 3 years now under two different teachers. I currently just learn more from the second teacher because he seemed to be more dedicated and practical. He teaches me a mix of Tongbei and another style called Yi Quan. I trained in Hwarang Taekwondo for about 2 1/2 years when I was 15. Dabbled in other various kungfu styles as well as non-kungfu ones such as Muay Thai, Jujitsu and western boxing.
My main art of study emphasise is traditionally known as a long range style and emphasise the use of the hands. Kicks are all low type kicks of the normal variety though the delivery is subtly different. Close range it uses a variety of wrestling techniques. Unfortunately it doesn't have much of a ground fighting component hence my interest in some of the grappling styles.
Hope to make a valuable contribution to this forum and get to know you all.
Cya!
