Ive been studying Krav maga for a year now and i love it. I want to get facial implants for cosmetic purposes. I am scared that i will have to give up martial arts because if i get hit it might shift the implant. I am wondering does anybody else have experiance or known someone with this problem.
thank you |

You could always wear a full face-guard while training, but it still sounds kind of risky. I'm no expert though.
Not too many people read this forum. Try posting this on the fitness/nutrition forum, or one of the combat forums - JKD or Thaiboxing. Good luck!

I'm no doctor, but I had surgery on my nose for a deviated septum and I wore a full cover face guard when I did sparring. I never had a problem with wearing it at tournaments or belt promotions.
One thing you might consider, though, is I think some people ARE more tempted to go for your face if they see you wearing protection. I tried a Krav class in my area. I couldn't afford it, but It was a great workout.
