Wish I could help... I'm sure there are local Judo clubs nearby that would be happy to provide the instruction you are seeking.

Don't overlook the growing popularity of the Gracie style Judo Newaza (grappling) or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Those academys are popping up all over the country!

They specialize in the type of instruction you describe.

Warriors of light, eh? Sounds awful...millenarian...doesn't it?

Warriors for what...the holy war, or the race war?

We are not all child molesters, likewise our church loves the honor, respect and hardwork taught by full contact martial arts, sorry i didn't mean to hit and run.

Lastly if the church can do good shouldn't it!

I used to love when I boxed people would ask these same questions, have they ever actually read the bible, you know at the end jesus rides a white horse leading an army of thousands, and as far as the warrior question try ephisians chapter 6.

I am a protestant in an evangelical denomination, but I love full contact sports, i.e boxing and wrestling so that is why we are doing this

Hello rev.jc and welcome to the group!
It's nice to see others of similar faith in the martial arts online community.
I have been a Christian for 14 years now and love the Lord. I used to run a martial arts school out of a local church several years ago and am feeling led to start it back up again, only this time with an even heavier lean towards scripture being taught in the class.

There are several busy Christian martial arts message boards on the internet. Do you post at any of them? Or would you like me to list or send you the links to them?

& I thank you for taking the time and energy to help out, I currently have 4 kids coming, I just set up our wholesale Acc. with ringside.

I am basing our program on the code of chivalry as a western martial art, our club is called the knights of Christ

I am also in the market for any used judo-jujitsu or training videos-dvds,

any body used frank shamrocks newest one?

but thanks again for the info in advance

Instead of buying used judo/jiu-jitsu videos, right now Century is selling all of its Panther titles for $9.99 on dvd.
http://www.centuryfitness.com/webapp...egory_rn=13501

On the left is a listing of all of its Panther titles.

More specifically, here is the list of all of its judo/jiu-jitsu titles:

I have tried the Oleg Taktarov ones and they are very good. The Joe Moreira ones aren't that great. The Alan Goes and Gracie ones may be pretty good, but I have not tried those yet.
