Hey everyone. Ive been looking at this forum for a little while now and just decided to get registered. I am a BJJ fighter in Shirley, NY, USA. I train at Kioto Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Milton Regis 3DAN, who was Budo International's Master of the Year for 2006. My school and system was and is still developed my Grand Master Francisco Mansur, one of very few Helio Gracie black belts, or should I say RED BELT!!! I train with a lot of really good guys, and girls out in Sayville, Long Island. I have also trained in Port Jefferson with the master. I plan to do BJJ for the rest of my life, and although I am a mere white belt with only six months of training, BJJ is a very important part of my life. I am looking for ways to better my game, and to gain championships and titles across the state, nation and world. I am currently a featherweight. I also love to lift weights and do endurance exercises like running and swimming and biking. Kiotobjj.com is the site, check it out if you are on the island and need to train like a champion.

I live in Sayville. How is Kioto? I am 34 and out of shape? What is your typical class like? How do they assimilate someone who is new? I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter, would it suit her? Is there any weapons training? All ground work? Any info can help.

Kioto is awesome. I think the best thing about it, is actually the way that Professor Milton can bring a new guy right into the mix without having him feel totally inadequate. You start from lesson one and work your way up every class towards degrees and belts. You learn a very precise and clear progression through the movements and techniques which makes it very easy to remember everything you learn, and most importantly use it. The workout is great, a little cardio a little total body workout, a bunch of rolling. Its honestly the best investment I have made since my days in the Marine Corps. Kids love it too. We win every single tournament kids division and Prof. Milton is great with them too. He has three of his own in class all the time. You get a few free lessons if you come down, tell Milton Nigel sent you. Its a great thing to start and not only for physical benefit, but overall mental and total wellness. Its a growing sport o be sure to get in soon so your not at the bottom forever. Email me at magusall@msn.com if you have any other questions or check out kiotobjj.com for a schedule. You can also contact Milton directly at milton@kiotobjj.com. Take care and I hope to see you at class.
