Default Hi

Hi everyone, I'm a 28 year old guy from Scotland looking to get back into MA.
I attended an IAKSA affiliated kickboxing class for about 3-4 months several years ago ad had earned my white belt, my yellow belt and was about to be graded for my orange. They also offered Lau Gar to more advanced students, which really interested me but they prefered that new students learn kickboxing for a while before teaching Kung Fu.

Now I'm thinking about going back (both for self-defense and fitness) but I've found a Ninjutsu school nearby as well which is really interesting me too.

Any advice on what I should do, or the pros and cons of both?

Go check them out. I fell in love with the Ninjutsu about 10 minutes into the first class I went to. Good luck.

Hehehe, I very much enjoyed your posts too.
Looks like we are on the same wavelength and you also are knowledgable in the one MA that really interests me.

Hope to see you around

Welcome!

Try posting your question on the Chinese and Japanese arts fora - not very many people read the Introduction forum.

Good training!

Just to update : I discovered the Ninjutsu dojo had closed over a year ago
However, I have enrolled in a Lau Gar kwoon and looking forward to getting that black sash.

Please don't kill me, Bydand

Great.

Tell us about Lau Gar as you learn and progress. I'm sure others would like to hear about it.

Sorry, I haven’t been around in a while.
Just to say that I’m still training in Lau Gar and I’m due to grade for my blue sash this week.
Still loving it. My fitness has improved considerably although I’d like to increase my flexibility more for the kicks.
I’m also looking forward to learning some Chin Na applications (had a basic introduction so far).

Oh yeah, and I’ve already sustained my first injury – 1 broken nose and counting

Is there anyone else here training in Lau Gar?
