Hello. My name is Lee Aldridge. I operate Reality Based Fighting Concepts in Albuquerque, NM. We are a self-defense service serving men, women, and LEO/govt.
I ran across this forum while taking a break during the holidays, and would be pleased if I could join in on the discussions, both to offer information and to continue my own education. I have been involved in the martial arts for over 35 years, and teach a conglomerate system which is primarily self-defense oriented. I consult with 2 PhD psychologists regularly as a means to more efficiently develop the curriculum we offer (it changes for every client). We've had a very good response to our program here, and I am dedicated to continuing to learn more from all of you! Thank you for the opportunity to share and grow as we discuss issues presented here. Happy Holidays, Everyone! Lee - |

Welcome, Lee. Good to have you here. I was looking over your site, and I came across something that I'm not sure that I understand:

I'm not sure if I interpreted what I read correctly. I would be interested to share some thoughts with you on this one. Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/Kwanza, Ryan

Ryan,
We do NOT "program" responses into our clients. The statement in our website is meant to say that we begin our training at force levels which allow the client to actually learn something instead of being overwhelmed by a realistic level of aggression. I'll have to edit that (thank you) so that it isn't misunderstood again. A funny thing is that no two scenarios during our training result in the SAME techniques, response, etc., so the website sentence is certainly misleading. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. If you wish to discuss any more about training, we may discuss it here on the forum, or you may contact me via my email (either personal as listed here or my web email on my site.) Lee |
