Default ninjitsu

Hey, does anybody know if there are any dojos or masters of ninjitsu in Laporte, Indiana? And another thing, do books on ninjitsu actually teach you things, or do they just go on about what you can do as a ninja?

The thing about books. You need to be careful. Authors who write books don't usually want a bunch of renegade ninja's running around taking over the streets. Often times, authors will put small mistakes into their books, use pictures that may hide key elements in a technique, or otherwise hide small parts aspects from you. This is not done to be rude, but to ensure that you seek out a certified instructor. Overall, from books you can glean, as m.artist already stated, basics and general attitudes toward techniques and the history and tradition you learn from books can't be beat. But please don't rely on any technique you learn from a book until it has been refined by an instructor.

Default same thing

Same thing, different spelling... check out these accepted spellings for a similar style all representing the same thing:

jujitsu
jiujitsu
jiujutsu
jujutsu
jujitsu

who can keep 'em straight? It's just because the japanese language doesn't translate directly into English because of the differences in language fundamentals.
