I usually consider most forms of Karate showy, ineffective, and rigid....but THESE guys, these guys are hard-core and have nothing but my full and utmost respect (what other karate guys, especially kyokushin, do you see competeing in a boxing (toughman) competition to learn hand skills the hard way, and win?!). I heard something about these guys opening up a school...maybe when they do, I'll pay it a visit...maybe for a few months in the summertime when I'm not in school. I guess they're under a direct student of Mas Oyama...or at least that's what I gleaned from their photo gallery.

This program is definitely legit. I know the guy who runs it - I trained with him before he opened the BudoKarateHouse. He did train under Mas Oyama.
He is an excellent instructor. It's probably the best full-time Kyokushin training you can get without going to Japan. Though I'm sure it's brutally tough, both mentally and physically. |
